Despite the tendency of many/most US citizens to default to optimism even when the chips are down, some moral and societal cancers cannot be cured. When Democrats, many of whom have been complicit in the treasonous sellout to Russia and in billionaire ass kissing, win back temporary control of the political realm our problems are not solved permanently. The damage already done, much of it, cannot be undone. MAGAts aren't going anywhere, and, because communal sociopathy has been embraced as an attribute by them, there will be no repentance and turning around.

• The civil war in the United States did not eradicate racism. In the last several hours, two lynchings of black men took place in a racist state with a racist governor and racist religious leaders. No law broken says so called law enforcement.

• “Pedofile” is not a badge of shame in the GOP; rather it is a badge of accomplishment, of merit.

• Theo-politically based endorsement of any unconscionable atrocity committed by the demonic Netanyahu and company is permanently ingrained ignorance and immorality.

There is no healing for such ills, only ectomies. And we lovers of democracy are the pieces to be removed. The only real questions are when and how.

Can you imagine a nation led by Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg and Jasmine Crockett and Gavin Newsome and Wes Moore? Can you imagine a nation in which every single day is a celebration of freedom for every citizen? A nation in which no one is hungry and everyone has access to healthcare? A nation in which children are absolutely safe at home, at school, at church or synagogue or mosque? A nation in which each citizen including comedians speak freely at home, online, and on stage? A nation in which rich people are not rewarded for being rich by excusing them from paying their fair share of taxes? A nation in which no religion’s tenets or theologies are in any way part of laws or policies?

Not a bad trade off for political surgery!
