An activist, Dr Menninger saw sin in child abuse, neglect and dehumanizing of Indigenous Americans, and violence against nature. There were other expressions os sin as well. For this influential psychiatrist, sin didn’t go anywhere. In his generation, though, many people had stopped talking or thinking about it because few wanted to take responsibility for their ethically-irresponsible choices. In his view:
Wrong things are being done… But is no one responsible, no one answerable for these acts?
