President Biden did nothing wrong and is not cognitively compromised.
President Biden merely grew older, and it happened at a pace he couldn’t have imagined.
Except for increased numbers of doctors’s visits, a joint replacement or two, and cataract surgery perhaps, to one who has worked to stay healthy and active feeling old doesn’t hit our awareness until something particularly dramatic grasps us. We don’t feel old until very late in the game.
Not being able to keep up your beloved home in which you’ve spent a half century.
Missing a connecting flight only because we couldn’t move quickly enough to get to the new plane.
Doing a budget review and finding out how the declining value of a fixed income is leaving less money to live or juggle emergencies.
Joe Biden just got old. And he was doing his job so well, things didn’t seem much different than they’d been four years ago.
Whatever his mental state was Biden was running the country so much more masterfully than Trump could manage in any given time frame. It’s never happened so we wouldn’t know for sure. Except for racists feeling vindicated or pardoned convicts feeling free, the only people who could possibly say their lives are better under Trump are the godless greedsters, the oligarchs.
If we live long enough most of us inevitably slow down. That doesn’t mean we’ve lost our value or our edge and thus our ability to contribute.
Vice President Harris won the presidential election. Had Biden announced earlier he would not seek a second term, she likely would have had more time to garner enough votes to beat the cheat votes too. But it’s sad that being female and a person of color outweighed for many voters her extraordinary skills and preparation for the job. Our loss, truly.
