One nation under good, not God

First, only individuals, not groups including nations, can embrace God. Second, it is possible to be an atheist and an excellent US citizen. Most atheists are much better citizens than most MAGAts.

I long to see our country united under good, not God. Our potential under such circumstances would be astounding.

As for me, I’m all pro-God as long as this deity is not the god of MAGAts and other religious fundamentalists, as long as God is understood to be the great mystery in whom I live and move and have my being.

Devotion to God or not is an individual matter, not a group or national commitment. So the reconstructionists are full of something and it isn’t brilliance or God’s love.

It is possible to be an atheist and an excellent US citizen. Most atheists are much better citizens than most MAGAts.
