A powerful message from Celie Johnson and THE COLOR PURPLE to Satan-energized Donald Trump: “You are about to fail.”
The abuse will end, Trump, and so will you.
The Color Purple. Mercy. Mercy. Mercy. Alice Walker brilliance.

In the film version, and I don’t recall how it’s presented in the novel or the play, Celie, portrayed stirringly by then-newcomer, Whoopi Goldberg, finally has had all of Albert’s abuse she will take. She’s leaving him, heading out with Shug.
Danny Glover was amazing as Albert, and Margaret Avery for me was the unsung hero in the cast portraying Shug.
Albert forbade her to leave and what follows in the film because of the script and these remarkable performers will leave you startled and silenced.
Celie to Albert:
You a low down dirty dog, that's what's wrong. Time for me to get away from you, and enter into Creation. And your dead body'd be just the welcome mat I need.
And not as powerful on the page as on the screen:
Until you do right by me, everything you even dream about will fail.

Dear sister and brother lovers of democracy, I do not know how long we will continue to have to endure the unconscionable abuses heaped upon the best of American citizens, all colors with black and brown people getting the brunt of his Satan-energized acts, but I feel a moment coming when non-MAGAt American people continue rising up to the point that Celie speaks for us to Satan’s spawn, Donald Trump.
